This is a very interesting question and I pray I can give a just answer. As for me, I've always been told that I actually do well under pressure and I've always wondered why folks would say that. I was wondering if they knew something about me that I did not know?
Well, as life continued and the pressures continued to come, I found that I was able to stand up under pressure and not break or go to pieces and it was all because of who I had living inside of me. "Greater is He that is within me than He that is in the world."
Pressure brings out the best or the worst in a person. I found that there are two very important words: Flight or Fight.
There are times when I run to the safety of my father's arm. " He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (V7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."
So I find that the best place for me is in the presence of the Lord.
There are times when I have had to fight. Oh, not with my physical strength. II Corinthians 10:4 "For our weapons are not carnal." We are to put on the armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:11
I can remember standing in the gap for my Mother when she had Bradycardia and respiratory arrest. A medication threw her system and she was declared dead. God has sent a word and she is alive and well and looking to be a hundred plus.
I can remember standing in the gap for my husband when he was having heart attack after heart attack. I was in a battle for his soul and his body. It was not a time to run or break but to stand therefore (having done all, to stand) in the name of Jesus.
Will I break under pressure? Only if i let go of God's unchanging hand.
