As an adult there are times when tears swell up into my eyes and that sinking feeling of having to put it back comes. You see, I am the youngest of five boys and three girls and I was born very late in my Mom's life. She actually thought she was done adding to her family. Anyways, she is older and on welfare and trying to survive in the state of Florida. She received thirty-two dollars per month plus what she could make baby sitting for the two of us to survive. She and I lived together until I was seventeen and she remarried.
She and I would go to the store and buy groceries, daring not to add any extras because we would not have enough for a bag of Chicken feed. Mom raised Chickens so we could have eggs and meat.
We made it through and God has kept us and brought us a long way. We are affected by the present economy just like most but, we are able to have a grateful attitude and know that God will provide.
When we hear of programs that bless us, we cannot help but share it with others. http://goneonvacation.info
I have always wanted to stand in the grocery line behind someone who could not completely pay for their groceries and be a blessing. Just because I've been there and I know how it feels.
