It is so easy to be negative and ungrateful. I was taught to be thankful. Even in the though times, during the storms of life I continue to praise and be thankful because I know I will be delivered. I've learned that with a grateful heart, it opens doors for more and more good things to enter my life.
For example: My mother and I were widows and we live together caring for each other. I gave up working outside of the home because of Care giving for my disabled late husband Ben and my disabled elderly Mother. It is not easy living a lifestyle of Care giver for so long. I've been full time now since mid 2008. Many comment that "you are a good person for your devotion to your family and denying of you personal needs and desires."
I personally see it as my reasonable service and believe that they would do the same for me if the situation had been in reverse. http://playtensongstoday.com
With that said, there have been some pressing needs and scare times in these hard economic times we are in.
We had a leaky roof and did not know how it would be repaired before the snow season. Yet, God opened a door for a grant and it is repaired.
We were without hot water for a few weeks because out hot water heater bursted. We didn't have the extra funds in our budget to purchase a new one and have it installed- and yet God provided. A Christian called and asked if we had gotten a hot water heated immediately after we had gotten off our international daily prayer line and I said, "no". We were still deciding if we could get a used one to carry us over if possible. He said, "I have one for you, when can I come and install it for your family? I began to shed tears of joy and say thank you. You see, I had just the day before gone into Home Depot and priced the very heater knowing that I did not have the funds. God allowed this person to purchase and install this Hot water heater for us with no strings attached. God is so good.
He has and is doing so many things in our lives and I just live in an attitude of gratitude state of mind.
